Sterling School Garden Work Day

Aug. 20, 2011

Above left, before crazy sweet potatoes and beans were tended; above right, nice okra patch and example of no-till garden. We broadcast lettuce seed here.

Above left, most of the group as we finish a row of kale and move onto the next section; above right, kale and spinach in, with eggplant, peppers and tomatoes still producing.

Wrote Garden Coordinator Jason Loseke, "Thanks again to Chris Clackum, Gloria Clackum, Joan Hardy, Carol Adams,  Tanya Pilgrim Loseke, the kids and also Kim and Norman Rusch. This group at Sterling today filled countless bags with weeds, prepped two rows, planted three, picked a bucket of beans and had a whole mess of fun! We do it again Tuesday and Saturday 9-Noon if you want to join in."
