Team Ernst & Young upgrades the garden

On Saturday June 11, 35 people used 10 cubic yards of compost to add another 1,000 square feet to the Sterling Elementary School Garden.

They pulled weeds, put down 3 cubic yards of mulch spread, created 8 raised beds and cut stakes for tomatoes.

And amid all that, they rid the garden of two grasshoppers. And a number of people learned about organic gardening!

A big gigantic thank you to Ernst & Young, Hands On Charlotte, Friendship Farms and Gardens, and Sterling Elementary.

The slideshow of pictures from the work day loads slowly. Thanks for your patience.
